Switching focus to new markets for UK independent and international school groups who pursue new and more stable revenue streams to emerging economies.
“These groups are all capitalising on increasing demand for private education,” cited Jorge Amírola, partner at Cairneagle, at a recent FT Magazine article. “UK-born school groups are expanding very fast, and other school groups are emerging in different parts of the world.”
The target markets for international expansion of British independent schools have radically changed from pre-Covid, moving away from China and looking to expand into other countries in Asia and other regions. International school groups, on the other hand, have mostly stayed away from China by slowing down their acquisition in the Asia-Pacific area while growing strongly in Europe, LatAm and the Middle East, and are continuing to do so.
