Principal

Alison Hinds
Principal
Alison joined Cairneagle in 2021. She has worked on assignments relating to UK and international school strategy, teacher CPD, higher education recruitment, and school and nursery commercial due diligence. Prior to joining Cairneagle, Alison was a secondary school teacher and middle leader. She completed her teacher training through the Teach First Leadership Development Programme and worked in state schools in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas. Alison has a degree in Music from the University of Oxford, a PGCE in Secondary Education from Canterbury Christ Church University, and an MBA from Quantic School of Business & Technology.

Ewan Robertson
Principal
Ewan joined Cairneagle in 2025 as a Principal having previously led KPMG’s Education Strategy business. With over 15 years of experience, he works with leadership teams and boards to help them answer their most challenging strategic questions. Ewan is experienced in leading deal and growth strategy projects across a range of education sub-sectors from Early Years to Higher Education and beyond, as well as adjacent sectors such as Student Accommodation, EdTech and Care. He has a first class Masters in Mathematics from the University of York and is an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.

Angeliki Zacharaki
Head of People Operations
Angeliki joined Cairneagle in 2018 and leads People Operations. She oversees the design and delivery of scalable people processes and provides strategic people advisory to leadership. She is experienced in developing and implementing strategy across all people functions. Prior to Cairneagle, she worked at Vodafone and Citibank, as well as in PR. Angeliki holds a BSc in Business Administration from the Athens University of Economics and Business, a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic People Management, and is a CIPD Associate member.

Amy joined Cairneagle in January 2022. Her recent work includes projects in international schools, adult education & lifelong learning, assessment and nurseries. Prior to Cairneagle, she worked in investment management. Amy speaks French, Spanish and Portuguese and has a BA in Modern and Medieval Languages from the University of Cambridge.

Rachel joined Cairneagle in 2025 as a Consultant. Her experiences so far include work in nurseries and international schools. Prior to joining Cairneagle, Rachel was a Strategy Consultant at a boutique consulting firm, advising private equity and corporate clients across a range of sectors. Rachel is interested in how private education providers can scale sustainably and improve educational outcomes, as well as the role of policy in shaping the sector. Rachel studied Neuroscience at Harvard University, graduating with Honors.

Ruowei Ji
Senior Consultant
Ruowei joined Cairneagle in 2023. She has experience in strategy and commercial due diligence projects across the education sector in the UK and internationally. Prior to Cairneagle, she worked in strategy consulting and in the non-profit sector. She is interested in exploring the private sector in the education industry and making a positive and lasting impact on business and society. Ruowei has an MPhil in Sociology from the University of Cambridge, and a BSc with honours in Sociology from the London School of Economics.

Hector Bagley
Senior Consultant
Hector joined Cairneagle in 2026 after spending 10 years using education to drive social impact across the African continent, Japan and the UK. In his previous role as Director of Ashinaga Uganda he oversaw 12 programmes providing educational access and psychosocial support to over 1,000 high-need students each year. He holds an MBA from INSEAD, an MSc in African Studies and a BA in Geography (both from the University of Oxford).

Tom Duffield
Senior Consultant
Tom joined Cairneagle in 2024 as a consultant and his experiences so far include work in UK schools, EdTech and the alternative provision and tutoring space in the UK. After leaving university Tom spent a year exploring different opportunities, working in strategic communications, teaching in an NGO Beirut and a short stint working in Japan. Tom retains a particular interest in SEND and public policy, following historic experience working in the SEND non-profit sector. Tom studied Economics and Management at the University of Oxford.

James joined Cairneagle in 2026. His recent experience includes work in the international schools and nursery sector. Prior to joining Cairneagle, James spent several years as a strategy consultant, working on commercial due diligence and strategy projects across the technology, further education, and higher education spaces. He also has several years’ experience in financial services. James has a BSc in Economics and Politics from the University of Exeter.

Robin joined Cairneagle in 2025 and has worked across the education sector internationally. Prior to Cairneagle, he was a teacher and department leader in Hong Kong for five years, leading several large transformation and turnaround projects. Robin holds an MA in Natural Sciences from Trinity College, Cambridge, and an MBA with distinction also from Cambridge.

Nafeesa joined Cairneagle in 2025 and is currently a Consultant. Prior to joining the firm, she was a Business Analyst at Kearney, where she worked on strategy and management consulting projects across a range of industries. She also has experience in non-profit strategy, focusing on market access initiatives in the agriculture sector. She is particularly interested in the intersection of education, social impact, and strategic growth, especially how organisations scale and evolve to meet changing needs across the education landscape. Nafeesa holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Economics from the London School of Economics.

Anna McFall

Anna joined Cairneagle in April 2025. She has experience in a range of strategy and commercial due diligence projects across the education sector, both in the UK and internationally. Before joining Cairneagle as a permanent team member, Anna completed an internship with us in 2023 and previously interned at a global health information company in 2022. She is particularly interested in the UK school landscape, SEND and the strategic growth of services to schools. Anna studied Business at the University of Bath.

Francesca Dauri
Consultant
Francesca joined Cairneagle in 2025 and is currently a Consultant. Prior to joining Cairneagle, Francesca worked as a Business Analyst at a boutique strategy consultancy firm in London, where she advised private equity and corporate clients across a range of sectors including; enterprise software, consumer goods, and industrials. Her projects focused on international expansion, organisational restructuring, and sales optimisation. Francesca has a strong interest in strategy consulting, education, and purpose-driven business. She has advised early-stage ventures in the blue economy and agri-tech sectors and is passionate about the intersection of business, culture, and social impact. Francesca studied at London Business School, earning a Masters in Management with distinction and receiving the LBS Women’s Merit Scholarship. She previously obtained a BSc in Economics and Management of Arts from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, graduating with first-class honours.

Ashley He

Ashley joined Cairneagle in 2025 as a consultant. Her recent experiences include strategy work for UK and international schools, and commercial due diligence and M&A advisory in the EdTech space. Before joining Cairneagle, she interned in auction houses and has had 6+ years of experience as a freelance tutor/mentor for students K-12. Ashley has a keen interest in the growing internationalisation of education, having been educated in different systems across Canada, the US, and the UK. Ashley studied Anthropology at Wellesley College (Summa Cum Laude) and holds an MSc in Archaeology from the University of Oxford.

Yusriya joined Cairneagle as a consultant in 2025. Prior to this, she completed internships in public sector and management consulting. Her recent experience includes strategy and due diligence projects across EdTech, international schools, and nurseries. Alongside her consulting experience, Yusriya taught English in rural Thailand. Yusriya holds a BA (Hons) in History and Economics from the University of Oxford.

Mercy Akinyele

Mercy joined Cairneagle in 2025. Prior to this, she has had a range of experiences at Procter & Gamble, PwC and HSBC. Her recent projects at Cairneagle include both due diligence and strategy projects in SEND, EdTech and international schools. She has a strong interest in international learning and assessment and education policy. She has a MEng in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Cambridge.

Ingrid Yu
Consultant
Ingrid joined Cairneagle in 2025 as a consultant. Since starting, she has worked on strategy and commercial due diligence projects on UK and international nurseries, schools and EdTech providers. Before joining Cairneagle, Ingrid worked as a cost of living research analyst at a global mobility firm. She also has 3+ years of experience as a freelance tutor for UK and international students, teaching A-Levels and preparing students for Oxbridge interviews. As an international student herself, Ingrid is keenly invested in the globalisation of education, to enable mobility. Ingrid graduated from the University of Oxford with a Congratulatory First in Experimental Psychology (ranked 3rd in her cohort) in 2023.

Ellen joined Cairneagle in 2026 as a consultant. She has experience across a range of strategy, commercial due diligence and vendor due diligence projects within the education sector, with a particular focus on international schools and education businesses outside the UK. Ellen is particularly interested in international education and the growing role of technology in shaping teaching, learning and school operations. She studied Politics and Philosophy at the University of Edinburgh.

His recent experience covers a range of strategy and due diligence projects across the education sector, including UK and international schools, EdTech and apprenticeships. Joe studied Business at the University of Bath, during which he completed a six-month internship with us in 2023, as well as working in a leading UK mid-market private equity firm.

Sam Reynolds
Consultant
Sam joined Cairneagle in 2026 and his experience so far includes work across the apprenticeships and UK schools’ sectors. Prior to joining the firm, he spent a year and a half living in Kyoto, where he worked as a data engineer and semi-professional rugby player. He also has previous experience as a data consultant intern, supporting private equity-backed businesses. Sam is particularly interested in the evolving landscape of higher education and training, including how changing public perceptions and expectations are reshaping the value proposition of different educational pathways. Sam studied History at the University of Oxford.

José Villicaña
Consultant
José joined Cairneagle in 2026. He has experience across strategy, regulatory and policy consulting, with a particular focus on the education sector gained through impact evaluations and policy analysis for large-scale education programmes in Mexico, working alongside international organisations such as the IDB, UNDP, OECD and the World Bank. Before joining Cairneagle, José gained experience in commercial due diligence during his MBA internship as a Growth Analyst at Nteaser in Madrid, where he managed energy and infrastructure deals. He previously spent over four years as a Consultant at De La Calle Madrazo Mancera, a boutique strategy firm in Mexico City, advising public and private sector clients on market entry, strategy, regulation and investment feasibility. He is particularly interested in the use of data to inform strategic decision making and in the dynamics of education and public policy across markets, especially early education. José studied a Master of Business Administration at IESE Business School in Barcelona and holds a dual Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from ITAM in Mexico City.

Erik Lonnroth
Data Solutions Architect
Erik joined Cairneagle in 2025 as our first Data Solutions Architect. In this capacity he leverages his knowledge of data science, software engineering and AI to perform complex data analyses and automate recurring workflows. He started his career as a consultant at PwC and product manager at Pearson, with the past decade dedicated to building consumer EdTech startups. Before joining Cairneagle, he spent five years as co-founder and CEO of a venture-backed online mathematics tutoring platform in South Africa. Erik holds a First Class degree in Economics and Politics from the University of Edinburgh.

Eva De Souza
HR Administrator
Eva joined Cairneagle in 2025 as a HR Administrator, supporting HR Administration, Recruitment and People Data. She supports onboarding and offboarding processes and maintains HR systems, people data and internal platforms. Prior to Cairneagle, she completed a year-long placement as a Recruitment Consultant at Hays, specialising in Technology Recruitment. She has also undertaken internships within the Asset Management and Energy Sectors, gaining exposure to corporate environments and people-focused processes. Eva holds a First-Class Honours degree in Business Management and Human Resources from Nottingham Trent University. Her dissertation focused on diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and she is a CIPD Associate member.

Caroline Bowen
Office Manager
Caroline joined Cairneagle in April 2026. With over 10 years’ experience as an Office Manager in industries ranging from Oil & Gas in Mayfair to Insurance in the City. She has proven experience project leading multiple office moves and office refurbishments as well as the implementation of policies and procedures aimed at improving office culture. Her daily duties can be vast and varied but with a focus on continual improvement to the office environment and the employee experience within the workplace.

Meet Our Senior Advisors

Daryl Fox
Senior Advisor
Daryl Fox has spent the past thirty years in executive leadership positions in Higher Ed publishing and Ed Tech. He has managed industry leading STEM programs at Pearson and Macmillan–wholly responsible for financial growth, business strategy, and accelerating the adoption of new technologies to fit emerging market needs.
Daryl also played key roles in building two startups (SVP Publisher & Content Strategy at CourseSmart, and Chief Content Officer at Knowbly). Both startups were successfully sold privately to competitors.
In the not-for-profit space, Daryl has two decades of experience managing boards. Most notably he is currently Board Chair of the Harcourt-Jovanovich Foundation, an organization that sends more than 100 low-income students to college each year. Daryl also does pro bono board work that focuses on exposing kids to Classical Music in disadvantaged communities, and bringing emerging U.S. artists to Europe and vice versa.
He holds degrees from Miami University, Southern Methodist University, and the London School of Economics. He lives in Berlin, Germany and Hudson Valley, New York.
